Andrew is an honours graduate in civil engineering from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and has seven years of experience in structural engineering. He gained his experience first with the largest engineering consulting firm in New Zealand and then with AMEC in Vancouver. He has been employed by Gygax Engineering Associates since 2006.

Andrew has been responsible for the structural design and supervision of construction document preparation for a wide variety of projects, ranging from industrial buildings to pipe bridges and high-energy debris impact barriers.
